Splashd is free — here's what that means
Splashd is built on the principle that the features that matter most should never sit behind a paywall. The following are free for every user, always:
Unlimited messaging: Text, voice notes, and video calls — no daily cap, no subscription required.
Private album: Every user gets one private album. Request-based access, revocable at any time, no watermarks.
Travel mode: Browse any city in the world for free before you visit.
Live map and grid: Both discovery modes are free. Venue check-ins are free.
Basic filters: Age, distance, and looking-for filters are free. Advanced attribute filters come with Splashd+.
You don't need Splashd+ to browse, message, meet, or use any feature that was available when you downloaded the app. Plus adds extras — it doesn't restrict anything that was previously free.
What Splashd+ adds
Splashd+ is an optional subscription for users who want more insight and a cleaner experience. It adds the following on top of everything the free tier already includes:
Advanced filters: Filter by more attributes — body type, relationship status, pronouns, tribe tags, position, and more — beyond the basic age and distance filters.
Profile analytics: See who has viewed your profile. Free users see a total count; Plus subscribers see the individual profiles (name, photo, and when they visited).
Ad-free experience: Splashd runs minimal, non-intrusive ads for free users. Splashd+ removes all of them.
Current pricing is shown on the subscription screen in the app. Prices may vary by region.
How to subscribe to Splashd+
Splashd+ is available as a monthly or annual subscription, billed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). We never handle payment details directly — your billing is managed by Apple or Google.
Go to Settings → Subscription in the app. Tap Upgrade to Splashd+.
Choose monthly or annual billing. The annual plan is discounted compared to monthly.
Confirm the purchase with Face ID, Touch ID, or your App Store / Google Play password. Your subscription activates immediately.
You'll receive a confirmation email from Apple or Google (not from Splashd) with your receipt.
Managing and cancelling your subscription
Because billing goes through the App Store or Google Play, cancellations are also done through those platforms — not through Splashd directly. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your Plus features remain active until the end of the current billing period.
iOS (iPhone/iPad): Open the Settings app → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Splashd → Cancel Subscription.
Android: Open the Google Play Store → tap your profile icon (top right) → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Splashd → Cancel subscription.
After cancellation, your Splashd+ features remain available until the end of the paid period. After that, your account automatically reverts to the free tier — you don't lose access to the app or your data.
To re-subscribe later, go back to Settings → Subscription in the app at any time.
Splashd does not directly issue refunds — all billing is managed by Apple or Google. For refund requests, use Apple's Report a Problem or Google Play's refund request process. Policies vary by platform and region.
Billing issues and troubleshooting
Most billing issues are resolved by Apple or Google — they handle the payments, so they handle the problems. Here's what to do for common scenarios:
Charged but Plus not activated: Force-quit and reopen the app. Go to Settings → Subscription → Restore purchases. If it still hasn't activated after a few minutes, contact support@splashd.app with your App Store or Google Play receipt.
Switched devices: Log in to the same Apple ID or Google account you used when subscribing, then tap Settings → Subscription → Restore purchases. Your Plus subscription will restore automatically.
Unexpected charge: Check your subscription settings on your phone. If you don't recognise the charge, contact Apple Support or Google Play Support to dispute it.
