LGBTQ+ geosocial apps are high-engagement products — but the category has accumulated technical and operational debt: brittle systems, aggressive paywalls, and trust & safety externalities that show up as low-trust interactions and churn.
When the system architecture makes it hard to ship safely, even small product decisions around sensitive data (like location) become governance and reputational events. The outcome is predictable: slower iteration, worse safety, and a worse experience for everyone.
We built Splashd from scratch with modern engineering and privacy-by-default principles: real-time discovery, reliable messaging, configurable visibility, and safety tooling designed as a pipeline — not an afterthought.
